V1 Internal Verifier Award

Internally quality assure assessment decisions
Who is it for?

The internal verifier is the person responsible for ensuring the quality of assessment practice within an approved NVQ Centre.

The verifier will ensure the consistency of assessment by guiding and supporting the assessor team.

Internal verifiers have a ‘management’ role; they have responsibilities in three main areas:

  1. Supporting and maintaining the quality assurance arrangements within a centre
  2. Training and supporting assessors
  3. Verification of the assessment process

This programme looks at the quality assurance frameworks of awarding bodies, and will be of special benefit for those responsible for co-ordinating NVQ programmes and ensuring the quality of assessments.

It will help in the establishment of new centres and improving existing ones by focusing on the administrative and monitoring systems needed to achieve quality programmes.

Our 2 day programme of development will enable internal verifiers to have a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities, and provide the skill and knowledge to carry out the role with confidence.
