A1 Development programme for Vocational Assessor

Training and support

Our approach to personal and professional development is to combine experiential or action learning with a series of learning sets in the form of training days and workshops.

2 days plus 1 day Workshop followed by work based assessment

This programme starts with a two-day session, which will enable new candidate-assessors to understand the characteristics of NVQs and the process of assessment.

The training is geared to provide a practical, no nonsense, and fun approach to developing the skills and knowledge required to carry out this important role of NVQ assessment, and to achieve the Vocational Assessors Certificate

Workshops

We know from experience that learning the skill is one thing, putting the learning into practise is another!

Candidate-assessors are encouraged to practise their skills and knowledge; they carry out assessment task assignments and then return to the workshop to share their experiences.

They can clarify understanding, and gain support and additional help from fellow assessors and the tutor. During the workshops practical and written exercises enable the candidate-assessors to gain valuable knowledge evidence for their portfolio, as well as information and advice on portfolio building.

On-going Support

Assessment and accreditation

Candidate-assessors are encouraged and advised on how to generate appropriate evidence for portfolios that demonstrates their competence as an assessor.

Throughout the assessment period your assessors will be there to offer support, and advice to help achieve the award.

We offer a telephone help-line for candidates who need immediate information or advice.
