The introduction of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) into staff training initiatives has created new roles and responsibilities.
The qualification is a requirement for anyone who needs to assess both practical skills and underpinning knowledge linked to national vocational qualification.
Awarding bodies will require their centre’s to have assessors who are both occupationally competent and have this assessor award (or be working towards it.)
The assessor will have considerable occupation experience and knowledge in the field they are assessing. They are responsible for judging the competence of the candidates using a variety of assessment methods. Trainers, tutors and teachers involved in NVQ’s will especially benefit from this programme.
