Leadership and Senior Management Development

“Leadership and learning first”

Delivered by Dr Chris James, a leading expert, developer and researcher on the subject of leadership.

The Leadership and Learning FIRST Programme is for senior managers and leaders.

Its aim is to transform the practice of those in leadership positions and to enable them to develop the capacity to continually learn about and develop their leadership practice - both during the programme and when the programme is complete.

In this way, the Leadership and Learning FIRST Programme sets out to bring about self-sustaining leadership development.

The programme is flexible and can be adapted according to the needs of the client.

It focuses on three central and important themes:

  • The Skills of Leadership
  • Leadership in Action 
  • Leadership in Depth.

The Skills of Leadership theme addresses issues such as the meaning of leadership, the skills and qualities of good leaders, communication, and vision.

The Leadership in Action theme is designed to enable participants to develop their practice by reflecting on and learning from their leadership work – during the programme and in their own work organisation.

The Leadership in Depth theme enables participants to gain an advanced understanding of their leadership practice and the influences upon them as leaders.

Programmes designed around these three themes last between three and nine days.
